Guidelines for San’s participation:
Disability Justice centres those disabled people most affected by oppression, so most in-person events do not serve DJ. San mainly performs at online gigs and hybrids with exceptional access.
Readings and performances should have captions (preferably live); audio description for visuals; breaks; and sign language interpreting. Hybrids and in-person should additionally have level access; accessible bathrooms; quiet space; adjustable lighting and seating; and airborne-illness precautions such as mask mandates, testing where possible, and air purification.
Events must be anti-racist and queer/trans-friendly; larger panels must make reasonable efforts to include non-white and underclass participants. San does not present at events that support warfare, occupation and oppression through sponsorship from entities on BDS lists.
