Guidelines for San’s participation in events:
- Disability Justice centres those disabled people most affected by oppression, so most in-person events do not serve DJ. With few exceptions, I do not want to be invited to in-person-only events.
- I perform mainly at online gigs (and hybrids with exceptional access). These must have live captions (not auto captions), audio description, breaks, and sign language interpreting. Hybrids must have level access, quiet space, and Covid precautions such as mask mandates, testing where possible, and air purification.
- Events must be queer/trans-friendly, and preferably have some LGBTQIA+ representation besides me.
- No all-white and all-middle/upper-class panels.
- I generally don’t work for free.
