'I'm Not Your Inspiration 4:
Liz C.', 2015
The fourth installment of Sandra's series about queer and trans D/deaf and disabled artists in Scotland. Liz, a singer-songwriter, tackles subjects including suicide, hospitalisation, depression and self-harm – but also has us rolling in the aisles with her unique humour. Captioned.
'A Conversation With...', 2017
One of five films Sandra co-created with Lisa Mattocks for Disability Arts Online's Viewfinder (and SICK! Festival) - highlighting the work of disabled and D/deaf UK artists. Featuring performer and filmmaker, Nadia Nadarajah. Other films feature Robert Softley Gale, Bobby Baker, James the Vacuum Cleaner and Tanja Erhart. BSL with captions and voice over.
'Able' blends poetry, sound poetry and stop-motion photography with benefit applications, border control terminology, and medical and blood donor questionnaires. Notions of disability, race, class, sexuality and gender identity intersect to ask: "Who gets to be 'able'"? Part of Tracey Moberly's Tweet-Me-Up 2012 (Tate Modern) and Feral Feminisms 2016. Subtitled.
Sandra has a short story commission in this anthology, about the 1920 Blind March on London, written in collaboration with blind historian Francis Salt. Click on the arrow for more info.
